Fashion Resolutions!

Happy New Year!  Are you ready for your planned changes?  It’s the time for resolutions!

What are you planning on changing in the New Year?  Is it a commitment to save money?  Lose weight?  Change a habit?  Well, there are so many choices but I can only tackle one topic…Fashion Resolutions!

 Fashion Resolutions…

 1.  Take a little fashion risk.  Step out of the box…wear those leggings, skinny jeans, oversized jacket!  I am not suggesting that you wear these items every day of the week but find a cute pair of leggings that fit you well and you will have a friend for life!  You will wonder why you have not purchased these before.

 2.  DON”T follow the trends.  Trends are suggestive wear and not style demands.  Use the trends to incorporate or update your classic wardrobe.  Remember, purchase fewer items that are style basics (see resolution #3) and are of a good quality (see resolution #4)…you will be much happier with your closet.

 3.  Purchase style basics.  Do you have a LBD in your closet?  (Little Black Dress) This dress can be worn to work, out to dinner, casual or dressy.  A classic piece in your fashion arsenal!

 4.  Purchase fewer pieces of higher quality.  These items will last longer, wear better and you will love the lux fabrication!

 5.  Step out of your BOX!!  Add color, texture, print….just change it up!  I have a resolution and that is to not wear black all day everyday…let’s see if I can adjust to this change!

6.  Purchase items that fit properly or visit a tailor to help.  Not all clothing fits off the rack (length of skirt or pants may need to be hemmed, waists nipped in or side seams tailored).  If you think you look like a sausage, chances are that the items are a bit tight.  Did a friend say it looked like a gunny sack?  It probably is too big.

 7.  Wear clothing that not only feels good but you feel good in it!  Express your style and individuality.

 8.  Accessorize!  Jewelry, scarf, handbags & shoes!  Any or all of these items will change the look of the outfit, take it from casual to dressy or office to evening!

 9.  Treat yourself to a new pair of boots!!

10 Things Every Woman Should Have

A customer who was in here today told me that she had just seen an article on MSN about 10 things that every woman should have.  She said we had many of those things in our store, and was duelly impressed by that.  She helped me find the article, which you can view here:  http://lifestyle.msn.com/your-look/everyday-style/staticslideshowinstyle.aspx?cp-documentid=23891925.

I thought it was neat that we had so many of the items listed, and that some that we don’t have we actually have on the way for fall!  Here are the items in the order that they were listed in the article:

1.  Black Blazer (Preferably tailored to fit you.)

2.  Leopard Print Scarf  (What’s not to love?)

3.  Red Flats (That pop of color will never go out of style!)

4.  Striped Shirt (Pair it with your blazer or wear it with other patterns and colors…you can’t go wrong.  My favorite is black and white stripes.)

5.  Statement Necklace (Wow.  You’ve come to the right place for that if you come to the Crystal Couture store!)

6.  Little Black Dress (LBD)  (Um, yeah.  We all need one of those.  I love that they can be dressed up or down!)

7.  Black Opaque Tights (Right now, we have leggings, and they are so much fun!  I’m loving them! Tights will be coming for this fall, so be sure to watch and stock up on them when they come in!)

8.  Oversize Watch (Again, you’ve come to the right place if you need any sort of watch.  We have tons of them here, and most all of them are statement pieces.)

9.  Classic Trench  (Great piece for casual or dress-up.)

10.  Flared Jeans (Good for all body types.)

Come in to see us and pick up parts of your 10 essentials…we’ll be glad to help you out!  :)
